The Battle of Bexar

Winter is Coming

In December 1835, San Antonio de Bexar was under martial law because Colonel Burleson and the Texians were now standing at the gates.

The Texians and Tejanos had already experienced several victories during The Siege of Bexar, initiated by Austin in late October. With each success, the Texians and Tejanos became more confident. As a result, they came closer to the main prize, San Antonio de Bexar.

And General Martin Perfecto de Cos, the brother-in-law of the Mexican President, knew that he had to brace himself for the inevitable storming of San Antonio. Accordingly, Cos entrenched his forces at the Alamo and many homes of prominent citizens downtown and prepared his army for what could be a long winter far from home.

Winter is Coming, and so are the rebels.
